Welcome to Asthma Auckland
Information and Support
The more you know about your asthma, the better.
Understanding what causes asthma symptoms, and how they can be avoided
is the key to getting on with life. One of the best and easiest ways
to stay in touch with new information is to join your local asthma
society.
Helping Aucklanders with Asthma
Since 1970, Asthma Auckland has been providing education,
information and support to people affected by asthma. More than 250,000
Aucklanders have asthma. We’re not only here to help them, but
their families, friends, health professionals and others as well.
It’s our aim to teach people the skills of good asthma management.
To do this, we mostly rely on donations and the support of our members.
Here's what we're doing for Auckland
Asthma nurse educators provide advice and assistance for people with asthma (and their families) with a telephone information service, home visits, education sessions and community health promotions. Our educators also facilitate COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) support groups who meet monthly.
Professional Training
We conduct training and education sessions for health professionals, tertiary students, community groups and organisations, students and school staff (including provision of our Asthma Emergency Kits offered to all schools in the Auckland region).
Asthma Shop
Our shop sells a range of products designed to help people manage asthma and allergies.
